David Trewern

After graduating from Swinburne University in 1994 (Graphic Design - Hons), David travelled to the United States and Europe to visit the global leaders of online marketing as part of an AGDA (Australian Graphic Design Association) student scholarship.

David founded DTDigital in 1996, and quickly became recognised as one of Australia’s leading experts in online communication strategy and website design and development.

In 1997, David was awarded ‘Interface Designer of the Year’ by the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association and was selected by The Age as one of the 30 rising stars under 30.

David has since grown DTDigital to become Melbourne’s largest full-service agency connected digital team. Under David’s direction, DTDigital has been included in the BRW Fast 100 and received over 45 national and international creative awards.

In 2004, ASX listed STW Group took a stake in DTDigital. In 2007, DTDigital officially became part of the global Ogilvy network, representing OgilvyInteractive in Melbourne.

David has played strategist and creative director for a range of DTDigital clients including: Honda Australia, Bunnings, Myer, GlaxosmithKline, Tabcorp, Football Federation Australia, Fosters, Australian Super, Bendigo Bank, CGU, SEEK, and Swinburne University.

David has lectured for Monash and Swinburne Universities and the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA). David is a regular contributor to numerous newspapers and publications on issues ranging from website design to business strategy in the digital age. David has judged award shows including MADC, AGDA, Award, PADC and the International Webby Awards.

In his spare time David enjoys time with his young family, and challenging himself in a range of activities including motor sport and kitesurfing. David was a pioneer of the sport and in 2005 ‘unofficially’ broke the kitesurfing world speed record with an average speed of 44.8knots, recorded over a 500m distance.
